We are proud to announce that Tropea Cipolla Party will take place on the 16-17-18 JUL 2021 combining LIVE and VIRTUAL elements.
Tropea Cipolla Party is the official celebration of the most famous Red Onion in the world and a showcase of Calabrian excellence live in-person event at the Historical Centre and the Port of Tropea with a “virtual” online component. Voted as the new Food Capital by “TIME”, Calabria has much to offer its inhabitants and tourists!
The event will host world masterclasses, live cooking demonstrations and panel discussions with International Chefs.
A mini exhibition offering small stands and conferences in a safe environment. This will be supported by a virtual online platform offering virtual stands, company presentations and new integrated ways of meeting. According to the founder of TCP Paolo Pecoraro this will create a seamless experience for visitors and exhibitors.
We will present Innovative and Traditional Calabrian Dishes all made live for the audience and also for our followers at home via web. Ingredient lists will be published before the masterclasses so that anyone who wants to join in can, ensuring they get to taste as well as marvel at the dishes from our talented chefs. For those that are in Tropea there will be the opportunity to join these Master Chefs in selected restaurants across the town.
The line-up
so far includes critically acclaimed chefs Gennaro Esposito, Igles Corelli, Andrea Mainardi, Riccardo Sculli, Giuseppe Romano, Federico Fusca, Francesca Gambarotta., the Ice Cream Maker Maestro Domenico Penna with the just born Official Tartufo with Tropea Onion “Tartufo Tropea Cipolla Party”
THE COOKING SCHOOL
will be run each day by Osteria della Cipolla Rossa in Tropea working through range of traditional typical Calabrian home cooked dishes.
The TCP COCKTAIL VILLAGE
a Live and virtual cocktail bar with some of the Worlds most well renowned mixologists and bar tenders, highlighting the famous and not so famous Italian tipples by Gianfranco Cacciola, Fabrizio Tacchi.
AVINEA
it is a LIVE & DIGITAL Wine Tasting Event in the alleys of the historic center of TROPEA and beyond.
Everything takes place under the direction of the Tropea Cipolla Party 16-17-18 July 2021. We will create a synergistic collaboration between a Winery and a Restaurant.
Food Pairing, Wine Test, Games, INSTA & FB Live Links.
A TV crew will be around all the restaurants / bars collecting interviews and video content that will be launched live worldwide through links with "TCP Around the Globe" "TROPEA ONION AMBASSADORS".
The Owner of the Cellar for the occasion will be the Sommelier of his own wine. Who better than him will be able to tell their wine?
Calabrian super Distillery FRATELLI CAFFO have created especially for the occasion “ONION DOTS” an hydro alcohol spray infused with Cipolla Rossa di Tropea Calabria IGP for use in premium cocktails and gourmet cooking but also sanitizer for hands, cutlery, plates and glasses.
Not all just food and drink there will be a moment to digest it all with a Well-Being expert the Breathe Coach Aicha Mckenzie of AMCK FIT and BREATHE BY AMCK.
Describing TCP Live+Digital as a bridging event, Paolo Pecoraro said: “We have chosen this type of format to continue celebrate the Tropea Red Onion in respect of the new rules anti covid -19, offering business opportunities to the producers, packers, processors and distribution companies of the Tropea Calabria Red Onion IGP, the Calabrian Excellence.
We have worked out ways in compliance with all anti-covid-19 measures, to safely and tranquilly run the party this year. We will have to give up some customs of the party such as the Cooking Shows in the square and the street food which will instead be performed inside our closed covid safe set enabling us to safely broadcast everything.
The protagonists of the Party have always been the incredible people and their passion and desire to share knowledge and their pleasure of the Italian table. There is somewhat stubborn Calabrian nature to the people! The charming part of that is they have the desire to be there, to make it work, to not give up and to look forward to the future with the hope.
